Overview :
Born Primitive is seeking a Human Resources Generalist with a passion for people and commitment to maintaining a culture of success within the workplace. The Human Resources Generalist is a broad role that will support the Director of Human Resources in managing HR functions and initiatives across the company. This role is responsible for assisting the Director of Human Resources with sourcing and screening talented candidates for open job positions, optimizing onboarding and training processes, and assisting with other Human Resources tasks to support the company’s overall strategic goals and employee experience.
Key Responsibilities :
Serve as a trusted resource for employees by addressing concerns and promoting a positive workplace culture
Assist in the development and implementation of employee engagement programs
Oversee the full cycle recruiting process and talent acquisition including but not limited to :
Screening incoming resumes and applications
Coordinating and scheduling interviews with hiring managers and candidates
Assisting the hiring managers with preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials
Facilitating communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process
Maintain and update job postings as necessary
Conduct new hire orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding experience
Maintain and compile personnel files to include scanning of confidential documents and file organization
Coordinate pre-employment screening processes, including background checks and reference checks when appropriate
Support benefits enrollment and assist employees with benefits-related inquiries
Identify and recommend opportunities for employee growth and advancement
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HRIS data
Maintain a working knowledge of the company HRIS system, Google Workspace, and other software applications utilized by HR
Generate various HR metric reports
Willing to assist with other departments as necessary
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience
Experience or familiarity with ecommerce and / or retail operations
Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations or willingness to learn
Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent relationship management and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
High level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information
PHR or SHRM-CP certification or willingness to obtain these certifications
Experience with and / or training on OFCCP compliance preferred
Must be a team player and willing to help others as able and when available
