Responsibilities

- Investigate complaints regarding potential code violations and take appropriate enforcement actions.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting findings from inspections and investigations.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies on urban planning initiatives and code enforcement strategies.
- Utilize GIS tools for mapping and analyzing data related to property compliance.
- Draft notices of violation and coordinate with property owners for resolution of issues.
- Engage in research data collection to support code enforcement activities and policy development.
- Assist in project scheduling related to code enforcement initiatives and community outreach programs.
- Works closely with the Planning Commission and Zoning Hearing Board
Experience
Candidates should have a background in zoning or code enforcement or a related field, with experience in the following areas considered beneficial:
- Experience using ArcView or other GIS software for spatial analysis and data visualization.
- Strong research skills for collecting data relevant to code enforcement activities.
- Knowledge of land development and subdivision contract management as it pertains to municipal projects.
