Title: Summer Camp Counselor

Rate: $15.49 - $16.50/ hour
Location: Donaldson County Park, Highland Park High School
Summer Camp Counselors are responsible for creating a fun, safe environment for all campers by overseeing their participation in a variety of sports, games, crafts, and nature activities. Camp operates rain or shine so counselors must be prepared for both outdoor and indoor camp settings. Counselors are expected to participate with campers in all activities, including lunch.
Summer Camp runs from Monday – Friday, July 7, 2025 – August 15, 2025; 8:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
WORK RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and lead at least one new activity per week
- Engage campers in daily planned activities
- Supervise children as they move from different activities
- Assist Head Counselors and Activity Leaders with set-up and clean-up of activities
- Maintain accurate camper lists, group information, and daily schedules
- Understand camper behaviors and respond appropriately
- Be vigilant and follow all safety guidelines provided by the camp
- Participate in all staff trainings and meetings
REQUIREMENTS:
- Age 16 , must be entering 11th Grade by Fall 2025
- Experience in summer camp, recreation, or childcare environment preferred
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to work as a member of a team

Pay: $15.49 - $16.50 per hour
