POSITION: COACH/TUTOR

DUTIES: The College Discovery Program at BMCC seeks two part-time tutors to support community college students academically. Specifically, we are seeking tutors in the following areas: English and science. This is an in-person schedule with a minimum of 15 hours. Coaches/tutors are also expected to conduct student outreach through calls, texting, and phone is essential.
All tutors will be expected to prove proficiency and receive certification from the respective academic department before an offer is made. Candidates must be available 10 to 20 hours weekly, M-F, 10-6:00 PM for this part-time position.
QUALIFICATIONS: Self-starters who can take initiative based on program needs are sought. In addition to tutoring, candidates are expected to be available, willing, and able to assist with administrative tasks. Experience with professional office procedures and conducting outreach via text, email, and phone. Candidates should also be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Word. The individual must also demonstrate ability to work with culturally diverse students with various levels of academic strengths. Other duties as requested. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Bilingual Spanish is desirable.
SALARY: $16.33-$19.67 per hour based on degree earned
HOURS: 10-20hrs. Per week (part-time), CD Office Hours are M-F 9-6:00 PM
