The Borough of Sewickley Heights Civil Service Commission seeks applicants to establish an eligibility list for the position of full-time police officer for the Borough of Sewickley Heights. Application packets are available at the Office of the Borough Manager / Secretary located at the Borough Hall, 238 Country Club Road, Sewickley, PA 15143 during regular business hours Monday through Friday. In order to satisfy the general qualifications for the position, an applicant must be a citizen of the United States and must be a minimum 21 years of age, must have graduated from an accredited high school or have an equivalent education acceptable to the Borough’s Civil Service Commission, must have graduated from a recognized police academy or school, must be Act 120 certified at the time of appointment, must be eligible to carry a firearm and must be free from conviction of a disqualifying crime in accordance with the Police Officers Education and Training Program of Title 37 of the Pennsylvania Code, must hold current CPR / AED certification, must be medically fit for the performance of the duties of a police officer, must be of good moral character, and must be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Benefits include employer funded healthcare, paid leave, paid sick leave and personal leave, ten holidays per year, life insurance, and the option to enroll in a 457B retirement fund maintained by the Borough.Starting salary is $85,117.54, with the contract base salary achieved after four years.
