Full Job Description:
Borrelli Construction, LLC / Borrelli Metal Buildings specializes in the construction of pre-engineered metal buildings, cold form buildings and post frame (pole barn) structures. We are a family owned and operated business which has been serving the tri-state area for over 30 years.
We are seeking an experienced construction Lead Foreman to join our team. This is a working foreman, hands on leadership position. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, and enthusiastic about delivering quality work in accordance with Borrelli Constructions’ standards.
The basic function of the Lead Foreman member is to manage, oversee and coordinate daily construction activities of a 3-to-4-man crew in accordance with company directives to ensure timely project completion. The candidate must be proficient in steel erection operations, metal roofing and wall panel installation, wood / metal stud framing, carpentry, concrete and masonry work and building insulation systems.
We are looking for a reliable individual willing to wear multiple hats. All employees are hired on a 90-day probationary period after which they will be offered benefits. We work on a mixture of private and public projects. Prevailing wage projects are sometimes available.
Requirements:
· Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the commercial construction industry.
· Proven experience as a foreman or team leader, with the ability to manage and motivate a crew effectively.
· Pass a pre-employment screening including background check, drug test and physical.
· Have a valid and clean driver’s license. (CDL license is a plus)
· Must be willing to work a flexible schedule if required.
· You must have your own tool belt, basic hand tools, work boots etc.
· Must be able to work at heights of 30 feet or higher and comply with 100% tie-off procedures.
· Be capable of lifting 75 pounds or more.
· Must be able to climb ladders, stairs and into equipment as required.
· Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA , Equipment and manlift training etc.)
Required Skills / Abilities:
· Ability to read and interpret field erection / installation drawings.
· Coordinate with project manager and subcontractors to keep project on schedule and within scope.
· Oversee and manage the fabrication, framing or installation of pre-engineered building systems.
· Supervise installation of metal wall panels, roof panels and standing seam roof systems.
· Manage and submit manpower time sheets to office weekly.
· Ensure all work is performed to the highest quality standards, check materials, measurements and finishes for accuracy.
· Communicate work progress and potential issues to the project manager in a timely manner.
· Forklift, Back-hoe, Excavator or Skid-Steer experience is a plus.
· Ensure proper operation of manlift, boom and or scissor lifts safely.
· General knowledge of tools used in various trades.
· Maintain equipment and tools in good condition with all safety features in place when in operation
· Welding experience is a plus.
· Experience with rigging materials for crane and or forklift operations.
· Ensure company vehicles and equipment are kept clean and maintained as used.
· Use, maintain, and inspect safety equipment and personal protective gear prior to use.
· Enforce safety protocols, provide safety training and Toolbox Talks to maintain a safe working environment.
