POSITION TITLE: Accounts Payable Clerk
REPORTS TO: Accounts Payable Manager
FLSA: Non-Exempt/Hourly
PURPOSE OF THE POSTION: The Accounts Payable Clerk provides support and assistance related to general accounting functions including Accounts Payable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Theessentialfunctionslistedbelowarenotintendedtoreflectalldutiesthatmaybe assigned to this position. Borton & Sons, Inc. may augment duties, including essential functions, at its discretion.
- Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
- Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
- Perform related data entry with accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide high quality, professional customer service support to internal and external vendors.
- Maintain organized accounting reports and files.
- Perform general office duties, such as filing, answering telephones and handling routine correspondence.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY:
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities/multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Related accounting experience preferred
- Proficient math skills as related to position
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and 10-key application
- Demonstrated ability to accurately enter, track, and analyze data
- Strong verbal/written communication skills
- Proven ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:
- High school diploma or GED required; Previous Accounts Payable experience preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS: This position requires sitting, standing, and walking, potentially for long periods of time, as required by the task. A large share of work is completed using standard computer/office equipment. Occasional lifting related to role of up to 25 pounds.
Borton & Sons, Inc. is a 12‐month, two‐shift facility which can require occasional and seasonal overtime.
