Description:
The Charge Table Operator shall operate in the functions with identifying tube pipes and assist with the loading of the tube pipe into the furnace. This position is also responsible for inputting tube pipe information in to the MES.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
1. Qualifications:
1.1. A High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
1.2. Read, write and speak English in a clear and effective manner. 1.3. Manual dexterity is required for operating machinery, hand tools and hand held technical devices. 1.4. Knowledge of OCTG manufacturing processes, procedures, and operation is a plus. 1.5. Visibility of work requires attention to detail and basic computer skills.
1.6. Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time.
2. Responsibilities:
2.1. Identifying and ensuring that the pipe loaded onto the charge table has the correct heat number.
2.2. Keep track of Heat numbers and sequence count.
2.3. Keep pipe available for the rotary arm to pick up.
2.4. Completing all paper work accurately during shift.
2.5. Painting the end of every lot at charged entry and at quench discharge for traceability.
2.6. Communicating the product details and unfinished duties whenever there is a change of
operator.
2.7. Inputting information into M.E.S.
2.8. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
3. Activities:
3.1. Communicate with Heat Treat operator for product description and for any problems during loading pipes.
3.2. Assist Heat treat Operator during change over.
3.3. Counting pipes on every heat to make sure that it reflects what is on the work order.
3.4. Maintain a good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.
3.5. This position may require operating a Forklift and Overhead Crane.
3.6. Complete Job Safety Analysis on a daily basis.
3.7. All other duties assigned.

4. Authority and Obligation:
4.1. This position has the authority to stop the charge operation if he or she deems it necessary, for reasons of possible equipment damage or bodily danger.
