What are the responsibilities and job description for the SRM Cut To Length Helper position at Borusan Pipe U.S., Inc.?
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are the same as the conditions provided in the pipe manufacturing industry. Working environment temperature is in parallel with weather conditions. It requires working in dusty, noisy, and greasy environments. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds, and standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
1. Qualifications:
1.1. A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
1.2. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
1.3. Experience with operating automated equipment preferred.
1.4. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery, hand tools, and hand-held measurement devices.
1.5. Knowledge of threading/pipe cutting/packaging production processes and procedures is a plus.
1.6. The employee is capable of working with precision measurement and inspection equipment.
1.7. Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time and weekends when necessary.
2. Responsibilities:
2.1. Responsible for Threading/Pipe cutting/packaging machine set-up during size changeovers.
2.2. Ensure the threading conforms to the quality requirement on the work order.
2.3. Ensure the Cutting machine conforms to the quality requirement on the work order.
2.4. Ensure the Packaging machine conforms to the quality requirement on the work order.
2.5. Communicating the product’s details and unfinished duties whenever there is a change of operator.
2.6. Read work orders to determine production specifications and information.
2.7. This position serves as a back-up for the Hydrotester, Pre-Visual Check, Threading, Packaging helper when necessary.
2.8. Maintain a good machine condition by observing machine operations, detecting machinery malfunctions, and making required corrections.
2.9. Communicate to Supervisor and operator when necessary.
2.10.Communicate and work together with the workstation operators.
2.11.Reject non-conforming products and readjust equipment to correct problems.
2.12.Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
2.13.Employee must follow the 5S implementation procedure.
2.14.Communicate to Operartor , Supervisor and Engineer any problems with material and equipment.
3. Activities:
3.1. Inspecting threading in accordance to ASTM and or Standard Operating Procedure
3.2. Inspecting Pipe length and Bundling operations in accordance to ASTM and or Standard Operating Procedure
3.3. Employee must report to his immediate supervisor and Engineer for briefing on daily tasks.
3.4. Provide and assist with maintenance on the equipment he/she is operating.
3.5. This position may require operating Forklift and Overhead Crane.
3.6. Keep the work environment clean and tidy.
3.7. Check that all machinery is properly serviced before starting up and during shift.
3.8. Assist in repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
3.9. Communicate with crew to achieve a quality product.
3.10.Assist in changeovers and maintenance.
3.11.Other duties as assigned.
4. Authority and Obligation:
4.1. This position has the authority to stop all SRM pipeline operation at any time that is deemed necessary for reasons of safety, quality, or priority.
