Job Description: Responsible for the Pipe Mill Hall, Finishing Hall, and Pipe Storage Halls. Support SRM supervisors to coordinate the production team. Review work orders and specifications to determine materials needed to be processed. Create and follow up with the maintenance job requests. Participate and initiate problem-solving studies. Follow-up on lab results and inform operators about the results. Track the consumption rates of the SRM consumables. Coordinate with workers to implement and maintain 5S to the SRM. Help the operators with setting up the equipment. Serve as a back-up for SRM Production Operators. Maintain the information flow between the management and operators. Accept raw materials (slitted coil) in Pipe Mill Hall and monitor the raw material stock status according to the production program. Check pipe diameters at the Pipe Mill and check that the voltage amperage of the electric resistance welding machine is suitable for the production parameter. Review changes in pipe production parameters based on destructive and nondestructive quality results. Control the parameters that affect the pipe diameter and wall thickness in the stretch reducing mill, keeping the normalization tempering temperature at an optimum. Check the bevel angle of the pipe ends for suitable bevel angle. Check the hydrotest test pressure for compliance with quality standards. Check the calibration and adjustment of the NDT test machine. Control UV coating thickness and coating quality suitability. Coordinate the finishing line change over and progress of work orders with the pipe mill line. Control the stock status of the pipes ready for sale, tracking the pipes that require rework such as re-beveling and re-coating. 1. What support is provided to SRM supervisors. Track daily production and reasons for stoppage. Prepare the shift list and notify the employees. 2. What type of lab results are received. Micro-testing is performed on the pipe weld area to see the weld quality. As a result of this test, the hardness, grain structure and mechanical test results of the weld zone are examined. The area of HAZ (heat-affected zone) is measured and the degree of weld flow lines is checked. Accordingly, the welding box and ERW welding machine parameters are checked.
Requirements: High school diploma/GED and 2 years of experience as an SRM Team Leader or related occupation. Position also requires 2 years of experience with:
- Manufacturing mill processes, procedures, and quality conditions.
- SRM and ERW Pipe production processes.
- Pipe Mill with experience supervising small groups
- Operating machinery, hand tools and hand-held technical devices such as elcometer, calipers, or related
- Manufacturing SRM and mill processes, procedures, and welding operation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- PPE policies and 5S implementation procedures.
- Bevelling knowledge and experience
- Hydrotest knowledge and experience
- Non-Destructive Test (Eddy Current) knowledge and experience
- UV Coating knowledge and experience
- MES knowledge and experience
