The Head Loader shall assist in the functions of transferring pipe material through the stages of operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures. Ensure the proper material is loaded into the trucks for proper customer deliveries. He/she will maintain an environment in compliance with safety regulations cooperation during his/her shift.
Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
Required
1.2. English reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
1.3. Basic computer skills and the ability to grasp an ERP System.
1.4. Manual dexterity required for operating hand tools and hand held technical devices.
1.5. Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and yard instruments is a plus.
1.6. Must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time and weekends when needed and be able to respond call outs.
2.2. Employee will verify all loading and unloading of material for quality assurance.
2.3. Assists in Inventory Control for verification of counts and material.
2.4. Route trucks to loading and unloading destinations within the yard.
2.5. Help complete loading and unloading documentation when required.
2.6. The employee is responsible for instructing on the racking of material per recommended practices.
2.7. Communicate to Shipping and Receiving team any problems with material, racks, or trucks.
2.8. Assisting at processing inbound and outbound racks when needed.
2.9. Ensure paper transfers are completed as needed.
2.10. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
3.2. Assist with loading, unloading and verification of material.
3.3. Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.
3.4. Execute daily counts on releases, transfer orders, rack locations and assigned projects to validate MES and AX counts.
3.5. Other duties as assigned.
4.2. This position has the authority to stop Yard Operation at any time that is deemed necessary for reasons of safety or quality.
