The Beveler Helper shall operate and assist in the functions of Beveling pipe ends description onto tube pipe materials for the continuous operation of the SRM in accordance with plant policies and procedures. He/she will ensure a safe and compliant operation during his/her shift.
Working Conditions
Working conditions are the same as the conditions provided in the pipe manufacturing industry. Working environment temperature is in parallel with weather conditions. It requires working in dusty, noisy, and greasy environments. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds, and standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
Required
1.2. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
1.3. Experience with operating automated equipment preferred.
1.4. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery, hand tools and hand-held measurement devices.
1.5. Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
1.6. Ability to work in harmony with coworkers.
1.7. Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time and weekends when necessary.
2.2. Ensure the bevels conform to the quality requirement on the work order.
2.3. Ensure that no pipe with inside scarf goes to the next operation.
2.4. Communicating the product details and unfinished duties whenever there is a change of operator.
2.5. Read work orders to determine production specifications and information.
2.6. This position serves as a back-up for the Hydrotester Helper and Pre-Visual Check when necessary.
2.7. Maintain a good machine condition by observing machine operations; detecting machinery malfunctions and making required corrections.
2.8. Responsible to clean and service all the equipment during scheduled maintenance and downtime.
2.9. Inspect the Crane ropes or grappling devices for wear and tear.
2.10. Deliver scrap waste to proper dept when scrap truck is full, and accurately tag for waste reporting.
2.11. Working in partnership with the SRM Beveller Operator and following their instructions
2.12.Communicate to Supervisor and Engineer when necessary.
2.13. Communicate and work together with the workstation operators.
2.14. Reject non-conforming products and readjust equipment to correct problems.
2.15. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
2.16. Employee must follow the 5S implementation procedure.
2.17. Communicate to the Supervisor and Engineer any problems with material and equipment.
3.2. Employee must report to his/her immediate Supervisor and Engineer for briefing on daily tasks.
3.3. Provide and assist with maintenance on the equipment he/she is operating.
3.4. This position may require operating Forklift and Overhead Crane.
3.5. Keep the working environment clean and tidy.
3.6. Check that all machinery is properly serviced before starting up and during shift.
3.7. Assists in repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
3.8. Communicate with crew to achieve a quality product.
3.9. Assist in changeovers and maintenance.
