The Hydrotester Operator shall operate in the functions of hydrostatic testing of pipe in accordance with plant policies and procedures. He/she will ensure a safe and compliant operation during his/her shift.
Working Conditions
Working conditions are the same as the conditions provided in the pipe manufacturing industry. Working environment temperature is in parallel with weather conditions. It requires working in dusty, noisy, and greasy environments. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds, and standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

1.2. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
1.3. Manual dexterity required for operating, machinery, hand tools, and hand-held technical devices.
1.4. Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and hydrotest instruments are a plus.
1.5. Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time.
2.2. Load and prepare the required Hydrotest Head at changeover time.
2.3. Ensure product meets the required specifications throughout the first and last article of the hydrotest process.
2.4. Check that all machinery is properly serviced before starting up.
2.5. Assists in repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
2.6. Communicate with crew to achieve a quality product.
2.7. Assist in the charging and discharging of material on racks.
2.8. The employee is responsible in assisting with documentation and or technical devices for recordings, testing, and findings.
2.9. Communicating to Supervisor and Engineer any problems with material and equipment.
2.10. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
3.2. Make sure the area around the Hydrotest equipment is safe to start production.
3.3. Employee must report 15 minutes prior to scheduled shift to his immediate supervisor/engineer for briefing on daily tasks.
3.4. Provide and assist with maintenance on the equipment he is operating.
3.5. Keep the working environment clean and tidy
3.6. Communicate with crew and other departments to achieve a quality product.
3.7. Assist in the verification and recording of testing and findings in the ERP System and/or required documents.
3.8. Assists in repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
3.9. Other duties as assigned.
