Description:
The Hydrotester Helper shall assist in the functions of hydrostatic testing of pipe in accordance with plant policies and procedures. He/she will ensure a safe and compliant operation during his/her shift.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
1. Qualifications:
1.1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
1.2. Read, write and speak English in a clear and effective manner required.
1.3. Manual dexterity required for operating, machinery, hand tools and hand held technical devices.
1.4. Knowledge of pipe manufacturing processes, procedures, and operation for at least 1 year is desired.
1.5. Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time.
2. Responsibilities:
2.1. Communicating with the product details and unfinished duties whenever there is a change of helper.
2.2. Hydro Helper is responsible for keeping track of Work order and sequence count.
2.3. Assists in changeover of equipment during size change.
2.4. Assist in the charging and discharging of material on racks.
2.5. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
3. Activities:
3.1. Placing color marks or bands on tube pipes that are either prime or reject.
3.2. Keeping tube pipe rolled up to the pipe stop
3.3. Employee must report to his immediate supervisor for briefing on daily tasks.
3.4. Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.
3.5. Other duties as assigned.
4. Authority and Obligation:
4.1. This position has the authority to stop the Hydrotest operation if he deems it necessary, for reasons of safety and possible equipment damage.
