Description:
The Railcar Loader shall assist in the functions of transferring material through the Rail Stations of operation and to load railcars in accordance with plant policies and procedures. He/she will ensure a safe and compliant cooperation during his/her shift.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances and working on heights up to 10 ft. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
1. Qualifications:
1.1. A High School diploma or equivalent.
1.2. Basic English reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
1.3. Manual dexterity required for operating hand tools and hand held technical devices.
1.4. Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and yard instruments is a plus.
1.5. Knowledge of Railcar Loading Procedures and supplies needed is a plus.
1.6. Ability to work under a fast-paced environment with a professional and positive attitude.
1.7. Employee must be able to respond to call outs when required.
1.8. Must be able to work in a team environment.
1.1. Must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time and weekends when needed.
2. Responsibilities:
2.1. Assist in the transfer and movement of pipe towards Railcar Area in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
2.2. Communicate properly with Forklift or Pettibone Operator while loading or unloading railcars.
2.3. Employee will assist in the verification of all loading and unloading of material for quality assurance.
2.4. Assists in Inventory Control for verification of counts and material.
2.5. Routes Railcars to loading and unloading destinations within the tracks and serve as switch man when required.
2.6. Complete loading and unloading documentation when required.
2.7. Communicating to Leadman any problems with material, racks, Railcars and equipment.
2.8. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
3. Activities:
3.1. Employee must report to Lead for briefing on daily tasks.
3.2. Assist Lead with loading, unloading and verification of material.
3.3. Railcar Loader will assist on driving the “Rail King” Equipment in the movement and spotting of

3.4. Railcar Loader will be responsible for the proper strapping and banding of the railcars as per AAR figures.
3.5. Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.
3.6. Rail King Inspection Form shall be filled before starting to use the equipment every day and at the end of the shift.
3.7. Other duties as assigned.
4. Authority and Obligation:
4.1. This position has the authority to stop Rail Car Loading at any time that is deemed necessary for reasons of quality or safety
