What are the responsibilities and job description for the SRM Automatic Packaging Operator position at Borusan Pipe USA?
Job Description: Responsible for operating and maintaining the Automatic Packaging and Strapping Machine(s) for continuous operation in accordance with the ASTM-API and plant policies and procedures. Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications to determine correct machine settings and operations. Determine setup specifications, work sequences, product dimensions and installation procedures. Ensure bundles and labeling are in accordance with specification. Prepare, feed, and track consumables into
machine(s). Perform inspections of equipment and report any issues to Supervisor and Engineer. Assist in repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns. Train other workers to operate mill equipment and set up during changeovers.
Requirements: High school diploma/GED and 2 years of experience as an SRM Automatic Packaging Operator or related occupation. Position also requires 2 years of experience with:
- Knowledge of pipe manufacturing processes and packaging procedures
- Operating automated equipment, hand tools, and hand-held measurement devices including caliper, Ultrasonic Paint thickness device, and Wall Thickness Micrometer
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and blueprints
- 5S implementation procedures
- Standard Pipe Bundle Types
- Final Pipe Quality Inspections Coating, Bevel, Diameter
- Maintenance of Bundling equipment
- Operation of manual steel strapping and automatic steel strapping machines
