SRM Mill Operator

Job Description: Responsible for operating and maintaining RS120 ERW Pipe Mill machinery to produce high-quality pipes and components. Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and specifications to determine correct machine settings and operations. Examine, inspect, and measure raw materials and after the sizing passes finished products to verify conformance to product/quality specifications. Set distance points between rolls, guides, forming and sizing passages according to specifications.  Adjust machine set-up gap/upset parameters, reshape pipe form and eliminate product defects. Set up, breakdown, and cluster passages according to these parameters. Train other workers to change rolls, operate mill equipment, and set ups during changeovers. Review, observe, and monitor for welding adjustments, welding parameters, and regulate speeds of machine(s). Determine setup specifications, work sequences, product dimensions and installation procedures. Ensure that ID/OD scarf equipment is working efficiently and is set up correctly. Change the tracking cut of saw blades. Take samples for process control, label properly, and ensure compliance. Perform visual inspections of machinery and equipment and report any issues to Supervisor and Engineer.

Requirements: High school diploma/GED and 2 years of experience as an SRM Mill Operator or related occupation. Position also requires 2 years of experience with:

1. Knowledge of the manufacturing mill processes, procedures, and welding (ERW/Stick/MIG/MAG)
2. Operating measuring devices such as: calipers, micrometers and ovality gauges
3. Plasma cutting and mechanics for getting micro samples without damage to weld line
4. ID and OD scarfing equipment
5. Performing Welding adjustments, setting proper welding parameters, and regulating speeds of machine
6. Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and blueprints
7. Manual Ultrasonic Calibration Skills
8. Steel Material Quality knowledge
