GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Product Manager is responsible for the assigned product segment. This position maybe a regional Product Manager, International Lead, or act as Global Product Manager depending on the segment that is assigned. The Product Manager will further develop and secure the BOS market position through specific product competence.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Update designs and iterate products for technology improvement, cost / mass improvements, or other needs.
  • Understand customer wants and needs from product segment – work with Product and Technology Roadmap and Sales department to confirm.
  • Implement technical benchmarks and technical reviews in the projects
  • Implement technical controlling and participation in phase approvals according to PEP
  • Serve as technical support for escalations or task force deployments – acting as technical lead internally and in front of the customer
  • Responsible for the technical aspect of any acquisition on the product segment – ensuring on time technical support for quotation process.
  • Establish strong relationships with corresponding customer teams – where they view the Product Manager as the BOS technical expert.
  • Ensure strong relationships with the Global Product Managers and be viewed by them as the regional technical lead.
  • Support and guide the Regional Engineering Centers in the relevant product segment
  • Conduct regional product symposia and training courses for its product segment
  • Develop and maintain product-related, technical database from all areas of the company, including the plants identification of product weaknesses and the resulting improvement and optimization of existing products (lessons learned and best practice). Sharing with Global Leads.
  • Contribute to the development and in-house development of forward-looking concepts for new product generations
  • Responsible for the resolution of production, development, launch issues as technical expert

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Automotive Engineering Roles - Manufacturing or Product
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of time
  • Experience in kinematic systems
  • Experience in automotive interiors engineering
  • Experience in fabrics, foaming, injection molding, stamping, extrusions
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Effective in a highly collaborative environment with lots of cross-functional interaction.
  • Strong organizational skills – able to balance multiple tasks at one time.
  • Task management – ensuring that all tasks are complete to necessary level, on time, and escalation if there are any risks.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively interface with customers, suppliers and other business partners.
  • Knowledge of various assembly methods and plant related launch activity.
  • Experience with engineering of plastic and metal forming is preferred.
