Job Description
As Packaging Engineer for the Bosch Power Tools organization, you are responsible for the strategic definition for packaging concepts and materials. As a member of multiple cross-functional product project teams (Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Project Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, and Postponement Operations), you will be in charge of the development of new packaging designs as well as improve existing designs in line with defined performance specifications.
- Translate Marketing and User needs into package designs and structure.
- Lead and direct package engineering activities of the project teams to achieve successful market introduction according to the New Product Development Process (as measured against targets).
- Direct assigned packaging project team activities to ensure packaging-related targets are met.
- Lead strategic design and innovation for utility, sustainability, and manufacturability of packaging.
- Proactively assess packaging performance, cost, and quality by regularly evaluating packaging designs.
- Implement innovative and alternative structural packaging designs.
- Work with Production teams on packaging processes to optimize packaging performance, cost and quality.
- Serve as direct line contact for assigned areas on an on-going basis with responsibility for all package engineering tasks packaging quality of existing items.
- Corrugate structural design experience preferred to be able to understand and provide direction to structural packaging challenges on new and existing items.
- Prepare and present packaging samples for Appropriation Requests, reviews, releases and other program updates to management groups, working with management to resolve obstacles and recommending solutions.
- Create, update, and maintain packaging design using CAD (Pro-E or alternate as appropriate).
- Work with suppliers for creating packaging structure using CAD whenever possible.
- Create die lines using CAD for corrugate packaging.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $95,000 to $110,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
