What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Semiconductor Defect Engineer position at Bosch?
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Defect Engineer to join our silicon carbide semiconductor manufacturing team. The Defect Engineer will play a critical role in developing and implementing yield improvement strategies, identifying root causes of process failures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in semiconductor manufacturing, data analysis, and defect reduction methodologies, along with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement yield improvement strategies to enhance production efficiency and reduce defect rates in the semiconductor manufacturing processes.
- Design and execute experiments to identify the root cause of process failures, utilizing statistical process control principles and data analysis techniques to interpret and extract insightful results from complex data sets.
- Analyze large data sets to identify trends and patterns in production processes, leveraging statistical data analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies to drive process optimization and defect reduction.
- Investigate the root cause of low yielding products through thorough analysis of in-line and end-of-line test results against process and equipment data, and work with process engineering and operations teams to improve the effectiveness of in-line monitors and mitigate end-of-line yield fallout.
- Collaborate with all departments to define the yield improvement strategy based on Failure Analysis (FA) and pareto analysis, and work with cross-functional teams to implement targeted defect reduction initiatives.
- Experience with Brightfield and Darkfield inspection equipment, including recipe programming and integration with a yield management system.
- Prefer supervisory and management experience to lead and guide teams in defect analysis and yield improvement initiatives.
