Job Description The New Product Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring quality is designed into Automotive products during the development process. As a key member of project teams, the New Product Quality Engineer will ensure requirements compliance and traceability and will lead and facilitate risk management activities working closely with Engineering Project Managers. In addition, the New Product Quality Engineer will rely heavily on their background in Lean principles to facilitate structured problem-solving methodologies, Fault Tree Analysis, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Design and Process Validation readiness reviews. As the champion for many of these tools and processes, the New Product Quality Engineer is expected to facilitate training and coaching of team members in the application of various tools and methodologies. The New Product Quality Engineer is also responsible for facilitating structured problem solving for design related issues that occur in production. The role will create the initial Advanced Product Quality Planning documentation and work with Customer Quality Engineers to ensure smooth transitions of components into production. Requirements: BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 5 plus years of experience in Quality Engineering is required. 3-5 years of experience in a design/product development environment is required. Knowledge of Automotive PPAP and APQP processes and deliverables (specially DFMEA) is required. Key skills include: Communication and organizational skills Leadership, influencing, and problem-solving skills Fluent in written and verbal English Knowledge of the 8D structured problem-solving methodology is required Knowledge of various problem-solving tools – 5 Whys, Is/Is Not, and Fishbone is desired Capable of presenting technical information and failure analysis to internal and external stakeholders Experience with risk management practices and tools Experience in applying quality methodologies and tools during product design a plus Familiarity with requirements development and management practices and tools (Jama) a plus Familiarity with other project management tools (Microsoft Project, Jira, etc.) a plus Travel (10%) may be required Privacy Policy Cookie Policy Terms and Conditions We’re a company built on disruptive innovation—having the courage to challenge the status quo, an unwavering commitment to our customers, and the fundamental belief that anything is possible.
