About The Job
To support the Bose passion to produce products and experiences customers can’t get anywhere else, the Diagnostic Software development team within Bose Global R&D is looking for a hard-working embedded software engineer to develop and integrate product-level software in the development of industry-leading, leading-edge consumer audio products such as headphones, ear buds, speakers and soundbars. This team provides software support and develops diagnostics for the testing and validation of products and platforms/technologies under development prior to release to customers.
As a part of this team, you will have the opportunity to work directly with hardware engineers, software developers and product test engineers to develop essential embedded software, validation firmware, tools and automation needed during all phases of product development. Additionally, you will implement and support on-product test software for validation of products in factory during manufacturing, as well as providing initial review, debugging and root cause analysis of software issues encountered in manufacturing process. You will participate/lead in the planning, integration, and delivery of Bose consumer products across multiple internal and external teams. The responsibilities of this role are consistently changing with new, exciting challenges to solve and opportunities to learn every day.

About You
Qualifications (minimum requirements)
- B.S./B.E. Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or Technical Focus
- Minimum of 1-3 years experience in: Integration, Software, Embedded, Hardware or Systems
- Experience with C, C or Python programming experience and/or shell scripting (5%-10% Coding Involved)
- Experience in developing system diagnostics or hardware and design validation utilities.
- Experience in developing and debugging applications under Linux/Unix environment.
- Good fundamental software development skills: working with APIs, leveraging existing code, developing modular, reusable code.
- Experience working on cross functional teams with electrical, software, and test engineers to develop product hardware bring up and hardware test strategies.
- Direct Product Test and/or Software Support for manufacturing process prior to shipment a plus
- Proficient with in-circuit emulators and common lab test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope logic analyzers bus analyzers etc. is a plus
