Job Overview:
Boss Office is seeking a Computer/Network Technician to provide IT support for customers, local businesses, and external clients. This role involves diagnosing and repairing hardware, managing Windows servers, supporting Microsoft 365 environments, troubleshooting network issues, and working with Windows 10/11, Chrome OS, and basic Linux. Work is performed in-shop, on-site, or remotely, and a company vehicle is provided for on-site visits.
The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service, and a solid technical background.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer & Business IT Support:
- Provide IT assistance to customers and local businesses for hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Diagnose, repair, and upgrade desktops, laptops, and Chromebooks.
- Perform system cleanups, malware removal, and software troubleshooting.
- Assist clients with Windows 10, Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and Chrome OS.
- Windows Server, Microsoft 365 & Chrome OS Support:
- Manage and maintain Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy).
- Configure and support Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams) and Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Provide troubleshooting and support for Chrome OS and Chromebook deployments.
- Basic troubleshooting of Linux systems (a plus).
- Assist with cloud integrations and cybersecurity best practices.
Networking & Connectivity:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Provide support for small business IT infrastructure, including local and wireless networks.
- Ensure network security and implement best practices for data protection.
On-Site, In-Shop & Remote Support:
- Travel to customer locations using a company-provided vehicle for hardware repairs, server maintenance, and network troubleshooting.
- Work in-shop to repair and configure IT equipment.
- Provide remote support for system configurations, software issues, and IT consulting.
IT Documentation & Customer Training:
- Maintain records of system configurations, repairs, and client interactions.
- Educate customers on IT security, software usage, and data backup best practices.
Requirements:
- 2 years of IT experience OR a college degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Experience with Windows 10 and Windows 11 troubleshooting and support.
- Experience with Windows Server administration (Active Directory & Group Policy).
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams) and Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Hardware troubleshooting and repair skills (PCs, laptops, peripherals, Chromebooks).
- Networking experience (routers, switches, Wi-Fi, VPNs, firewalls).
- Experience with Chrome OS and Chromebook management.
- Basic knowledge of Linux troubleshooting (a plus).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , Microsoft 365 Certified, or CCNA (a plus).
- Experience supporting small business IT environments.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and cloud solutions.
