What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk position at BOSS Office Products?
Description
This position will be the main point of contact for the various companies who will deliver products to BOSS throughout the day. The clerk will also be the main person to fill and package customer orders and make sure they get sent to the correct routes for delivery to the customer. Execute all tasks with the highest standards for customer service, safety and in keeping with BOSS’s mission, values and principles.
Responsibilities
- Assist and direct companies dropping off freight/deliveries
- Accurately unpack and matchup all products to the packing slips
- Accurately key in receipt of goods request in to the computer
- Accurately fill and invoice customer orders
- Accurately count inventories and distribute inventory request to proper warehouses.
- May be required to pick-up and drop-off product to the customers.
- Assist delivery driver/Furniture installation with assembly and delivery of orders that may require more than one person.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
- Have strong customer service skills.
- Required to perform basic math; understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; and understand multi-step written and oral instructions.

- Performing General Physical Activities — Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; significant climbing and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
