Boss Precision was established in 1988. A privately owned custom metal fabrication facility in Spencerport, New York, we serve customers in a variety of industries including transportation, construction, communications and consumer equipment
Position Overview:
The primary responsibilities of the IT Specialist are to provide onsite support and regularly scheduled maintenance of the IT systems and network infrastructure. The position requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
· Windows & Linux System and Networking administration
o Rocky Linux Server Administration
o CentOS Linux Server Administration
o Samba
o Troubleshoot various issues related to misconfiguration and applied updates to systems
o Maintain existing backup strategy for both on- and off-site backups
o Cyber Security Practices
· Managing communication between machinery and the company network where applicable
o Static IP networking configuration
o Untangled firewall support
o Port configuration
o Router configuration
o Samba Networking File System
o Lasers, CNC and Turret machinery are remotely fed job programs via internal servers
o Ability to terminate Ethernet cabling to replace or add new lines
§ RS232 compliant serial networking needed as well
· Maintain printers and supplies for various company operations
o Laser, Inkjet, Zebra, Sato and Plotter printers
o Various labels printing driven by customer requirements
· Support for the catalog of all pertinent software required for company operations. Most notably:
o Paradox9
o Office 97, 2013, 2019, and 365
o Open Office where applicable
o Thunderbird
o SAGE50 & Swagman
o SolidWorks Design & Amada AP100 CAM Software
o Kaspersky Total Security
· Regular cleaning of equipment from machinery particulate
· Work with external vendors for software licenses and other software needs not possible in-house
Position Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting server and desktop applications, preferably in an MSP environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
