What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Boston BioProducts?
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Production team and managing the routine manufacturing procedures related to ordering management. This position requires interaction with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Commercial, and Logistics) to support schedule delivery, order management, supply chain, inventory management, and ensure products meet client requirements.
This is a 100% on-site position working in our Milford, MA office.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and Coordinate production of all products in BBP’s catalog and custom products on-the-floor
- Monitor entire production processes for all products manufactured within BBP
- Ensure production personnel record/document to the Batch Record (BR) and applicable logbooks
- Maintain detailed and organized records of all procedures and products.
- Maintain logs of equipment calibration, compliance, and usage.
- Maintain general production area cleanness
- Maintain the inventory of consumable items within the production area.
- Maintain Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with BBP’s standards as listed in Quality Manual
- Establish and consistently improve the existing process to reduce waste and increase efficiency
- Ensure that all personnel within departments are trained properly on SOPs, Work Instructions (WIs), and Software Work Instruction (SWs)
- Train and manage a high-performance work team
- Schedule and coordinate break times according to Production schedule set by the Production manager
- Encourage production personnel to maintain productively
- Fills in on an as-needed basis for any manufacturing duties on the production end
- Collaborate and notify the Quality Department of any non-conformances.
- Ensure the products are delivered in a timely manner
- Support and substitute in for the Senior Production Manager as needed
Education
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related scientific field or equivalent
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of Managerial/Team Lead experience.
- Managerial manufacturing is preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient knowledge of solutions and reagents, including properties, functional, application, and precaution
- Proficient knowledge of chemistry concepts such as molarity, concentration, and mass.
- Proficient knowledge of dimensional analysis for basic dilutions and conversions.
- Maintain and monitor cGMP compliance
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, multitask and change priorities while maintaining productivity in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
