Job Overview:As the Cannabis Cultivation Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing day-to-day operations of our cultivation facility. You will supervise a team of cultivators and ensure all aspects of plant health, growth, and harvest are in line with company standards and regulations. This position requires working in a fast-paced environment, strong leadership skills, and the ability to effectively interact with members of the team to ensure a positive culture.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of cultivators to ensure optimal plant health and productivity.
- Monitor and maintain environmental conditions (lighting, temperature, humidity) to support plant growth.
- Implement good agricultural practices (GAPs) and follow all GMPs and Facility Rules
- Keep good records and follow good documentation practices (GDPs)
- Department KPI data collection and entry
- Develop and implement cultivation schedules, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and within regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the pruning, trimming, and harvesting processes to ensure high-quality product output.
- Conduct regular plant inspections and troubleshoot any issues related to pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
- Maintain accurate records of cultivation processes, plant health, and production yields.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as compliance and quality assurance, to ensure that products meet industry standards.
- Train and mentor cultivation team members to ensure consistent, efficient, and effective cultivation techniques.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal cannabis regulations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in cannabis cultivation (3 years preferred), with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Deep understanding of cannabis plant biology, cultivation techniques, and pest management.
- Strong knowledge of cultivation systems and equipment, including hydroponics, soil-based systems, and environmental control systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the cannabis industry.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or nights if necessary.
Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity; enough to reach/handle items, work with fingers
- Able to lift up to 50lbs to shoulder height
- Standing for extended periods, up to 8 hours a day
Facility Environment
- Allergen warnings - Potential exposure to dust, pollen, and plant pathogens.
- Exposure to cleaning solvents, such as isopropyl alcohol or bleach
- All jobs require daily use of provided PPE, such as masks, hair nets, beard covers, respirators, boot covers, scrubs, non-slip shoes, and Tyvek suits as necessary
- Exposure to loud noises, including but not limited to air compressors, packaging equipment, and alarms.
- Exposure to CO2 manufacturing procedures at OSHA approved CO2 levels
