What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator or Director of Religious Education position at Boston Catholic?
Director of Faith Formation
This is a key leadership position that oversees and directs the faith formation programs for grades 1-8, sacramental preparation, and adult formation opportunities.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate Roman Catholic in good standing with a Bachelor's Degree in Religious Education/Theology or related field and preferably a Master's degree. They should also have experience in utilizing media and innovative communication methods to reach out to various communities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement faith formation programs for children, youth, and adults
- Foster adult formation opportunities
- Maintain effective communication with parishioners, staff, and the Archdiocese of Boston
- Support youth ministry initiatives
- Assist in planning and implementing evangelization efforts
Requirements:
- Possess strong time management skills and ability to assess, plan, and implement programs efficiently
- Demonstrated experience in leading programs that target active and inactive communities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ability to quickly learn new software as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Religious Education/Theology or related field
- Experience in catechetical formation of children, youth, and adults
