Summary:
Throughout the Boston Celtics’ storied history, they have long stood for equality and respect, including drafting the first African American player, hiring the first African American coach, and playing the first all-black starting five. The Celtics have won a record 18 NBA Championships spanning five (5) decades, including eight (8) in a row from 1959-1966, and winning their most recent in 2024. In addition, forty-one (41) former Celtics players, management, coaches, or staff have been inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. In December 2002 the team returned to local ownership for the first time since 1963.
This role supports the day-to-day logistics of our scouting team—from managing schedules and travel to coordinating draft workouts and major events like the NBA Draft, Combine, and Summer League. From day one, you’ll help keep scouting operations running efficiently, ensuring reports are organized and calendars are aligned across departments. This position reports directly to the Assistant General Manager in Basketball Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day to day operational needs of the scouting staff including credentials, meeting schedules, and staff calendars
- Assist with all logistics surrounding draft workout scheduling, travel and coordinating with other NBA teams
- Attend and help with big staff events at the NBA combine, NBA draft, NBA Summer League, G-League Showcase, etc.
- Help maintain databases with all the reports collected by the scouting staff.
- Manage schedule communication between scouting staff and all other departments
- Assist with various administrative tasks such as communication, expense reconciliation, and personnel travel
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
- Experience in basketball as a player, coach, manager, video coordinator, or similar positions
- Strong time management and organization skills coupled with attention to detail
- Excellent teammate with a team-first mindset
- Goal oriented with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work extended and flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
