The Materials Buyer will be responsible for ordering and maintaining bar stock, raw materials, and supplies; working diligently to identify and explore opportunities that will reduce material costs through price negotiations and sourcing. Responsibilities range from providing answers to questions related to materials and pricing to delivering timely responses to quote requests. Success in this position will be demonstrated by achieving sales metrics and profitability efforts of the organization.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful:
- A bachelor’s degree with a business management focus
- Prior work experience in manufacturing, materials management, sourcing, and inventory control
- Working knowledge of the metals industry and specific products related to the business.
- Expertise in MS Office Suite, especially Excel and familiarity with ISO and Lean manufacturing practices
- Project management, planning, and resource allocation experience
- And most importantly, enjoys coming to work, being part of a team, and getting “stuff” done.
What You Can Expect (The Day to Day):
- Manage the purchasing of raw materials to best meet the overall buying strategy.
- Work with suppliers to establish standard lead times, expedited delivery schedules, tier pricing for volume or special purchases and successfully maintain strong business relationships with suppliers.
- Maintain supplier performance data including delivery, lead time, quality, and certifications.
- Strongly focusing on being detail oriented and able to manage daily updates of inventory and purchasing data, order status and delivery information
- And most importantly, enjoys coming to work, being part of a team, and getting “stuff” done.
