What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infection Preventionist I position at Boston Children's Hospital?
The Infection Preventionist Will Be Responsible For
- Providing ongoing surveillance of healthcare associated infections throughout the hospital.
- Identifying and investigating increases and/or changes in incidence, pattern or type of infections and developing and recommending prevention and control strategies.
- Providing consultation and education to all levels of staff on infection prevention and control policies, procedures and practices and communicates and exchanges information with public health agencies.
- A Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Medical Technology or a closely related field required. Master’s degree a plus.
- Two to three years of previous experience preferred.
- Certification in Infection Prevention (CIC) preferred.
- Pediatrics experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Office products.
