What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Assistant III - Farzan Lab position at Boston Childrens Hospital?
Job Posting Description
The Farzan lab studies the immunological control and prevention of viruses and uses lymphocyte engineering as one of its primary tools. We are looking for an experienced candidate willing to work hard and learn the relevant biology. Experience working with mice and some background in immunology are strongly preferred.
This Research Assistant III will be responsible for :
- Independently deciding which techniques may be appropriate for specific experimental investigations and carries out those experiments with minimal supervision
- Critically evaluating experimental results independently and providing summaries or interpretation of results to PI
- According to prescribed protocols and assigned schedules, performing a variety of routine laboratory and murine experiments and procedures, utilizing standard laboratory equipment, recording and checking results for completeness and accuracy
- Troubleshooting procedures if experimental results are unexpected or quality of specimens is poor
- Performing the following techniques typically required for the laboratory / study :
Maintaining records of results and methodologies in a log of work performed
