    • Job Description
    • The Assistant / Associate Director, Graduate Student Services (for Student Formation and Support) with the Lynch School of Education and Human Development will ensure the active engagement of graduate students in self-discovery, formation, and when needed, appropriate student development as matters surface. Assistant / Associate Director coordinates inclusive and holistic formation activities and responds to any graduate student notifications from faculty and Lynch School of Education and Human Development (LSEHD) partners. The successful candidate will provide advising to a designated caseload of graduate students and processes associated administrative procedures related to graduate student needs in the LSEHD.

      Reporting to the Director for Online Programs & Graduate Student Services, the Assistant / Associate Director will also

      Supervise a Graduate Assistant for Student Support

      Serve as liaison to the University Student Services Office

      Serve as liaison to designated Academic Departments on campus

      Work closely with Career Services and Alumni Affairs as part of vocational programming

      The Assistant / Associate Director Graduate Student Services will also support and collaborate with the Associate Dean for Graduate Student Services, Associate Dean for Faculty and LSEHD Department Chairs to ensure delivery of student services and maintenance of student records for all LSEHD graduate students.

      Assistant / Associate Director

      Title and salary commensurate with relevant experience based on the following titles and hiring ranges :

      Associate Director $70,520-$88,150 (5 years prof exp)

      Assistant Director $63,800-$79,750 (1-5 years prof exp)

    • Requirements
    • Masters degree in higher education, counseling, human development preferred

      Essential advising and academic counseling skills, and student development knowledge

      Supervision of staff (administrative and / or professional) in a team environment

      Superior customer service orientation and focus and the ability to work effectively independently as well as in a team environment

      Program development for students defining their holistic pathway, using inclusive practices that address career planning, formation and related student development

      Ability to work with varying constituencies including faculty, staff, and students

      Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

      Familiarity with Boston College systems

      Excellent writing and oral communication skills

      Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint)

      Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrable problem-solving skills

      Ability to provide functional supervision as needed and serve as a technical resource

      Ability to prioritize, plan, and manage changes to existing systems and implementation of new services.

      Ability to maintain data security and confidentiality of all data at all times

      Ability to work with others under pressure in order to meet deadlines
