The Stewardship & Donor Engagement Specialist reports to the Sr. Assoc. Director, Stewardship & Donor Engagement, Recognition and is responsible for providing administrative support to Stewardship & Donor Engagement. They will work collaboratively with the Sr. Assoc. Director to effectively manage the processes associated with the principal and major gift recognition initiatives and the processes associated with the production of special projects, recognition events, briefings, and activities related to university donors.

This position supports a comprehensive recognition and events program for the university donor base, and work includes researching and tracking previous cultivation, acknowledgment, and engagement activities related to donors currently in a stewardship cycle and assisting with the best strategies for effective stewardship of donors through recognition, benefit fulfillment, engagement, and donor events.

The candidate should have strong project management skills and follow through necessary to develop stewardship plans, manage timelines, monitor priorities, and progress against goals. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and perform multiple duties with minimal supervision, with a high degree of accuracy, keen attention to detail, and follow-through under tight deadlines—capacity to work in a fast-paced environment involving high-level stakeholders; ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, resourceful, strategic, and highly engaged in working collaboratively with a team. The candidate anticipates opportunities and possesses a high level of follow-through on opportunities and projects. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication and technical skills are essential. The candidate should exhibit discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential donor and student information and be dedicated to the goals of advancing higher education. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and Google platform, and an understanding of Adobe Suite and InDesign software. Familiarity with project management tools and CRMs such as Mythos, Blackbaud or other fundraising databases is preferred. Adherence to Boston College rules and regulations is required.

Must be a team player committed to their success and that of the team, resourceful and dedicated to advancing higher education, have an appreciation for Jesuit Catholic education and the values of Boston College. Bring exceptional writing skills, comfort developing cogent content from scratch, and initiative to work independently in novel, diverse subject matter areas is critical. The subject matter will focus on needs that span the University’s schools, programs, and institutional priorities. A desire to build a career in advancement is a plus. May require occasional nights and/or weekend work.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The salary range for this position is listed below with the final salary based on various factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and internal equity considerations.

Salary range: $48,700 - $60,850

Requirements

This position requires 3-5 years of increasingly responsible administrative experience in a professional setting; strong interpersonal and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy; excellent oral and written communications skills including effective phone communication skills; accurate typing skills; a working knowledge of Google Suite and Windows PC, including Microsoft Office, and familiarity with Customer Relationship Management databases; exceptional proofreading; strong attention to detail; a commitment to accuracy; and very adept at handling multiple tasks and working well within deadlines. Also requires good judgment, discretion in handling confidential materials, ability to work independently without close supervision, and flexibility to work beyond the regular hours of the workday when necessary. Candidate must possess solid knowledge of grammar and punctuation. Familiarity with a higher education setting or a fundraising office is preferred.

Requires a high school diploma, bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidates should be highly motivated to work in a fast-paced environment that will require some night and evening work.
