Who We Are

Boston Consulting Group partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most important challenges and capture their greatest opportunities. BCG was the pioneer in business strategy when it was founded in 1963. Today, we help clients with total transformation-inspiring complex change, enabling organizations to grow, building competitive advantage, and driving bottom-line impact.

To succeed, organizations must blend digital and human capabilities. Our diverse, global teams bring deep industry and functional expertise and a range of perspectives to spark change. BCG delivers solutions through leading-edge management consulting along with technology and design, corporate and digital ventures—and business purpose. We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive.

Practice Area

BCG’s Industrial Goods practice serves four broad industrial segments: Automotive & Mobility, Engineered Products & Infrastructure, Materials & Process Industries, and Transportation & Logistics. We help companies in these sectors think beyond the limits of their traditional business models, choose where and how they should add value, and reorganize to defend themselves against new threats and explore new opportunities.

What You'll Do

BCG is seeking a highly experienced automotive industry leader at the Partner & Associate Director level to help shape the future of mobility. In this role, you will bring deep industry expertise to guide top OEMs through their most complex challenges—whether in operations, procurement, supply chain, product development, or manufacturing transformation. You’ll collaborate with BCG’s senior leadership, providing strategic guidance on operational excellence, supply chain resilience, and emerging industry shifts while expanding the firm’s thought leadership in the sector.

As a Partner and Associate Director, you will be recognized by clients as an expert in your area and be seen internally as one of the faces of your topic. You will team with senior BCG leadership to generate significant growth in strategic priority areas. You will be directly involved in project execution to increase the value generated to clients, while playing a vital role in helping to build intellectual capital and the BCG brand. While continuing to play an important role in supporting and executing client work, Partner and Associate Directors transfer knowledge to a team around them (including traditional consultants)—hiring, coaching, and mentoring junior team members to support your area of expertise.

Our Expert Consulting Track

The Expert Consulting Track (ECT) is vital to BCG’s ability to successfully meet our clients’ demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities. Experts deliver next-level impact for BCG's most complex and cutting-edge client challenges. Experts focus on developing BCG's thought leadership, commercial capabilities, and intellectual property assets; and their work is essential to our delivery model. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to bring the ‘best of BCG’ to our clients, Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise often gained outside of BCG in industry, academia, or specialized consulting.

What You'll Bring

To be successful in this role, you should bring deep industry expertise and leadership experience in the automotive sector, along with the following qualifications:

  • Senior leadership experience within an OEM, with a background in operations, procurement, product development, or strategy.
  • Proven expertise in manufacturing, assembly, supply chain, and operational transformation within the automotive sector.
  • Strong understanding of EV production, battery manufacturing, and emerging trends in automotive and mobility industries.
  • Experience launching and scaling new programs within an OEM, such as new product lines, manufacturing processes, or operational initiatives.
  • Ability to influence and advise C-suite executives and senior decision-makers on industry best practices and competitive strategies.
  • Strong industry presence with a deep understanding of OEM leadership dynamics, key stakeholders, and industry trends.
  • Superior problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast paced environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex industry insights into actionable recommendations.
