What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Electrical Engineer - Spot position at Boston Dynamics?
As a Senior Electrical Engineer on the Spot electrical team focused on high-speed circuit design, you will develop electronics for Boston Dynamics' quadruped mobile robots. You will be responsible for developing circuit boards with serialized data links through all phases of PCBA development from concept through to volume production. How you will make an impact :
- Develop (document, design, simulate, test, support) digital, power, and / or mixed signal circuit boards
- Own robot subsystems through architecture, development, and volume manufacturing
- Oversee and / or layout circuit boards in CAD
- Simulate, design and validate high-speed digital interfaces at the board level to ensure proper signal integrity
- Mentor other team members and act as the go-to resource for high-speed digital interface design questions & problems
- Triage, troubleshoot, and diagnose robot electrical failures to root cause
- Author technical documentation such as specifications, schematics, test plans, and reports
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, manufacturing, compliance, and test teams
- Write Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Participate in design reviews
