JOB GOAL: Perform specific procedures and duties to assist in ensuring a neat and clean appearance throughout the facility, and to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a safe and clean cafeteria by cleaning all spills, drops, and messes
- Wash all cafeteria floors and walls near the trash barrels.
- Move all chairs and tables and wash the cafeteria floors with a scrubbing machine.
- Periodically, as assigned by the management, strip and refinish cafeteria floors.
- Paint walls in the cafeteria and replace any missing lights.
- Remove foreign materials by hand or sweep/dry mop floors and stairs.
- Wash classroom and hallway floors using a mop and bucket or automated machine.
- Buff classroom and hallway floors using hand buffers or automated machines.
- Use a hand machine and automated machine to strip or heavily scrub floors when needed.
- Apply finish by hand with a mop.
- Move furniture when needed to do floors.
- Care for equipment used in floor care.
- Collect trash and dispose of it in the dumpster.
- Clean up spills, floods or accidents on floors
- Refill water coolers with cups and towels.
- Shovel snow or spread salt/sand as needed.
- Empty baskets and replace liners.
- Clean glass on frames, windows, tables.
- Wash walls.
- Vacuum carpets as assigned.
- Pick up trash/litter on school property as needed.
- Keep areas around dumpsters neat.
- Clean water fountains.
- Dust various areas as assigned.
- Use an extractor to clean stains on carpets.
- Plunge drains/toilets as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
- Consistently meet the minimum performance standards, as determined by the Plant Manager, at a competent and dependable level.
- Report to work on time, and as scheduled.
- Effectively support and interact with all levels of staff in a business-like and respectful manner.
- Communicate with students with respect and dignity.
Qualifications:
- Lift without assistance on a frequent basis.
- Pull/push wheeled housekeeping carts throughout the buildings.
- Bend, stoop, climb, reach, push, pull, use full body mechanics, including hands, fingers, and feet.
- Stand/ sit for periods of time as the task requires.
- Withstanding variations of temperature, range of noise and varying odors.
- Have good vision, hearing and ability to take and understand instructions.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
