Our client, who has buildings in the CT area is a leading real estate developer and investment manager within the industrial, residential and other property sectors.
Role Overview
The Building Engineer is responsible for light maintenance, ensuring the smooth operation of facilities, particularly in industrial settings. This includes managing and responding to tenant requests and emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Call vendors but also posess a basic knowledge of how to repair building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and fire protection
- Inspect and test fire suppression systems and collaborate with safety vendors.
- Ensure property areas, including grounds and equipment rooms, are clean, safe, and organized.
- Assist contractors and respond to tenant inquiries.
- Handle after-hours emergencies like fires, flooding, or power outages.
- Keep accurate logs and reports on daily activities and inspections.
Requirements
- At least 1 years of experience in building operations, especially in industrial or office settings.
- MA Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical systems, and fire/life safety standards (NFPA, OSHA).
- Ability to read schematics and follow preventive maintenance programs.
- Experience with online work order systems is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, kneel, climb, and work in various environmental conditions.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
