Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and empathy, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment.
- Take and record patient vitals, including blood pressure, temperature, weight, pulse, and respiration rate.
- Perform blood draws for laboratory testing as required by the physician.
- Assist physicians during patient exams and procedures, ensuring proper patient positioning, sterilization of equipment, and preparing examination rooms.
- Manage physicians' calendars, ensuring optimal scheduling and coordination of patient care activities.
- Handle patient inquiries and requests promptly and courteously, either in person or over the phone.
- Assist in maintaining electronic medical records (EMR), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of patient information.
- Prepare and organize patient charts and medical documentation for appointments and procedures.
- Assist physicians with administrative tasks such as correspondence, reports, and presentations.
- Evaluate and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and protocols, including HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (2 years) as a Medical Administrative Assistant.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and practices.
- Proficiency in taking vital signs, phlebotomy, and medical office procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer skills.
- Certification or diploma in Medical Administration or related field preferred.
