Medical Assistant & Phlebotomist

We currently have a per diem opening for an experienced Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist in our Wilmington, North Carolina clinic. The schedule is Monday-Friday 7:15 am-12 pm with an occasional possibility for a weekend/holiday rotation depending on the growth & needs of the office.
Summary
Provides phlebotomy & clinical assistance to the nursing and physician teams to ensure an effective daily flow of the clinical practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
Performs phlebotomy for the first few hours each morning (must be certified!)
Handles the intake of new patients
Coordinates clinics for physicians seeing patients in conjunction with the nursing staff
Sees patients in clinic with the physician and performs basic functions such as vital signs
Assists the physicians with procedures (SHG, biopsy, etc.)
Chart Prep as directed by the nursing staff
Medication Prior Authorizations
Tracks pregnancies for reporting purposes
Orders supplies and stocks exam rooms
Enters appropriate paperwork and flow sheets into computer

Education and Experience
Medical Assistant certification required
Phlebotomy certification required (if not part of medical assistant certification)
1-2 years of experience in both phlebotomy and medical assisting
Women's health experience preferred, Infertility experience a definite plus!
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

- Monday to Friday
- Rotating weekends
