What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at Boston Lab Services?
About the team:
The Facilities and Lab Operations team supports all operational aspects of our Cambridge facility including infrastructure and Quality Control laboratories. This role will support our Cambridge facility Quality Control laboratories in a diverse scope providing multiple services to the lab stakeholders. A solid understanding of operating in a GMP environment is necessary for this position.
How youll spend your time:
- Background with GMP/GDP
- Move pipettes back and forth during PCI visits
- Take pipettes from location lab personnel has dropped off
- Drop off in metrology lab
- Pick up from metrology lab
- Return to the holding area in the QC lab
- Draft technical reports in Veeva (if technical background is there)
- Participate and represent maintenance planning and scheduling function in daily and weekly planning meetings with lab and facilities representatives.
- Track and ensure service contracts and vendor qualified status are updated and in place, as required.
- Generate purchase orders, and qualifications by coordinating with service providers, vendors, and equipment end users.
- Support Lab Operations and Facilities for shipping out equipment for repairs and schedule onsite services by external vendors and providers, as required.
- Send out thermometers, light meters, etc.
- Loading dock support including company shutdown coverage
- Package receipt/delivery (Oracle)
- Work with couriers
- Lab consumable inventory
- Stocking
- POU
- Cycle Counts
- Order management
- Lab stock management
- Specifically items impacted by supply chain shortages
- Long lead time item tracking
- Standing order tracking
