Vice President of Finance
Location: Boston, MA | Full-Time | Reports to: Club President, initially reporting to the Controlling Manager until the President is hired.
The Role
We are seeking a Vice President of Finance to join our founding executive team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for building and leading all core financial functions at the Club, including strategic finance, accounting, FP&A, budgeting, cash flow management, and reporting. You will serve as a strategic partner to the President and other leaders, contribute to critical business decisions, and help shape the financial future of the organization.
The ideal candidate is experienced, adaptable, and excited by the opportunity to build systems and processes from scratch. You’re comfortable operating at both the strategic and tactical levels—whether it's presenting to the Board or managing the day-to-day flow of financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and lead all finance and accounting operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance.
- Develop and maintain financial models, KPIs, and dashboards to inform decision-making and performance tracking.
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and manage short- and long-term financial plans.
- Oversee cash flow, working capital, and capital planning to support growth and operational needs.
- Implement and manage financial controls, accounting policies, and procedures that align with GAAP and startup best practices.
- Support investor relations, including preparation of financial materials, updates, due diligence, and capital raises (as needed).
- Collaborate with department leads on operational budgets and strategic initiatives, including annual budget process.
- Assist in securing and managing club fundraising efforts, sponsorship finances, and grant tracking (if applicable).
- Manage external vendors, including auditors, tax professionals, and outsourced accounting partners (if needed).
- Prepare and present financial reports for ownership, Board of Directors, and league officials.
- Oversee stadium debt provider requirements including reporting, tracking covenants, and relationship management.
- 8 years of progressive experience in finance/accounting roles, ideally with a blend of startup and established company experience.
- CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required.
- Experience building and leading finance functions in a high-growth or startup environment.
- Proven ability to manage accounting operations and financial strategy simultaneously.
- Familiarity with fundraising, capital markets, or investor communications is a strong plus.
- Ability to operate independently, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
- Deep understanding of financial systems and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Excel, financial modeling platforms).
- Passion for sports, equity in women’s sports, and building from the ground up.
