Job Overview: The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our private club. This includes managing all aspects of the Club, its activities and the relationship between club members, the Board of Governors and upper management at the TD Garden, Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business Management and/or Hospitality. An advanced degree is a plus.
- At least 5 years in a leadership/managerial role, preferably in a similar private-club-like setting with a focus on member/guest/customer service.
- Ability to perform at a high level in a fast paced, demanding environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- Experience planning and coordinate large scale and complex events and activities.
- Strong financial management skills.
- Experience working with “Northstar” Club Management software system is helpful.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversees daily operations of the club, ensuring a high level of member service and satisfaction.
- Manages a team of 2 full-time and 3 part-time staff
- Oversees Bruins and Celtics game nights including ticket distribution and reservations.
- Implements policies established by Board of Governors.
- Manages communications including the Club website and social media
- Leads member relations efforts including new member initiatives and promotions.
- Monitors long- and short-term objectives working closely with the Executive Board, Ticket Operations and Member Services to devise and execute improvements.
- Oversees the Club’s operating budget and cash flow producing financial and operational reporting as required.
- Manages relationships with external constituencies including TD Garden. Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics Management ensuring a high level of member service on Bruins and Celtics game nights.
- Coordinate Executive Committee and Board of Directors meetings.
- Oversees and manages the Club’s all-in-one software program, Northstar to ensure it is functioning properly, proper patch updates are installed and all data is correct
Working Conditions:
This position may require working outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, to oversee club events and activities.
