Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team in providing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy to patients. TMS is a non-invasive, FDA-approved treatment for individuals with depression and other mental health conditions. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for administering TMS treatments, maintaining patient records, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate TMS equipment.
- Accurately position and calibrate the TMS device according to the patient's treatment protocol.
- Monitor the patient during treatment to ensure safety and comfort.
Patient Care and Communication:
- Greet patients, explain procedures, and address any questions or concerns.
- Build rapport with patients to create a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Observe and report any patient feedback or adverse reactions during treatment.
Clinical Support:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in obtaining pre-treatment evaluations, including medical history and vital signs.
- Communicate with the clinical team regarding treatment progress and patient care.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform daily equipment checks and ensure that TMS machines are in proper working order.
- Report any technical issues to the clinical supervisor.
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
- Assist with insurance verification and pre-authorization processes, as needed.
- Cross Coverage Spravato
- Serve as back up and coverage for Spravato program
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred).
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or similar) is preferred but not required.
- Current CPR/BLS certification (required).
Requirements:
Experience:
- Prior experience in a medical or behavioral health setting (required).
- Experience administering TMS treatments (preferred but not required; training will be provided).
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented approach.
Technical Competence:
- Comfort with using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Ability to learn and operate specialized medical equipment.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings if needed.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, and perform repetitive motions during patient treatments.
Training and Onboarding:
- Comprehensive training in TMS protocols and machine operation will be provided for qualified candidates.
- Comprehensive training in Spravato protocols and machine operation will be provided for qualified candidates.
