The position of Manager, Shopify Plus Development reports directly to the CIO/VP of Technology and is primarily responsible for the eCommerce platform including architecture, development and supporting client-facing SaaS applications. The individual should have hands on experience in a technology function, driving change initiatives and digital transformation, and translating business requirements into customer centric designs and applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Shopify developers to achieve ambition growth targets.
- Oversee web applications/components using in-depth knowledge about Liquid, JavaScript, CSS, HTML and jQuery, Python to meet business requirements.
- Lead and develop continuous improvement to Site Speed and SEO.
- Manage and oversee ADA compliance.
- Provide technical best practices to eCommerce development team.
- Architect and deliver highly tuned, testable, and optimized applications code per specifications, and offer alternative approaches when reviewing requirements and stories.
- Collaborate closely with business partners and tech team in all phases of the product development lifecycle.
- Lead best practices in agile development environment and be instrumental in analyzing and breaking stories down into smaller, deliverable units of work.
- Deliver on-time, unit-testable, high-quality systems that meet the specifications.
- Stay current on technology and domain trends, frameworks and cutting-edge technology.
- Architecture of integration with 3rd party apps.
- Collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams within the organization.
Experience/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- 7 years of experience in full-stack web application development with Shopify Plus
- 7 years of good knowledge of frontend development, liquid programming language, theme customization, development of Shopify apps
- 7 years of experience on RestAPI and Shopify theme SDK
- Expertise in Shopify's Liquid templating language and strong hands-on experience in installing & customizing new Shopify themes
- Experience with JavaScript (jQuery), XML, JSON, SQL, PHP, CSS3, HTML5
- Experience with Git Version Control (BitBucket or GitHub)
- Experience in handling checkout and payment functionality customizations
- Experience in apparel retail or retail preferred
