What are the responsibilities and job description for the Minor League Technology Operator position at Boston Red Sox?
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Minor League Baseball Technology Operator will be a member of the Baseball Technology team and is responsible for collecting data and operating performance technology at Florida Complex League games at JetBlue Park. This individual will collaborate closely with the Player Development Associates, as well as the Press Box staff. We expect you to be available, in-person, and available on weekends to operate KinaTrax / TrackMan and the pitch clock for at least 3-4 home games per homestand.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect TrackMan data by utilizing their provided tagging software, properly tagging pitch types and game flow.
- Collect KinaTrax data by utilizing their provided tagging software, ensuring our metadata is correct and the video clips a proper duration.
- Operate the pitch clock and other game technology during Florida Complex League games.
- Interact with the Video & Technology Associates before, during, and after the game to ensure all our data is precise and accurate.
- We expect proper press box etiquette, and in return will provide a learning opportunity for the chosen candidates.
CHARACTERISTICS
- Strong administrative skills; organized, proactive, and strong communication skills.
- Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Prior experience in baseball/softball is preferred.
