Boston Renaissance Charter Public School is looking for a dynamic Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) to drive our commitment to an inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive community. In this influential role, the DEI Director will spearhead school-wide initiatives that celebrate diversity, foster a strong sense of belonging, and integrate equitable practices into every aspect of school life for our students, staff, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develops and implements a comprehensive DEI strategic plan aligned with the school’s mission and values.
- Serves as a thought leader and advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within the school community.
- Collaborates with school leadership to integrate DEI principles into policies, curriculum, programs, and school culture. Community Engagement:
- Fosters relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners to promote an inclusive and welcoming school environment.
- Organizes and leads DEI-focused events, workshops, and discussions for students, staff, and parents.
- Serves as a resource and advocate for underrepresented and marginalized communities within the school. Curriculum & Instruction Support:
- Partners with teachers and curriculum coordinators to incorporate diverse perspectives and culturally responsive pedagogy into the curriculum.
- Provides guidance and resources to support inclusive teaching practices that meet the needs of all learners. Professional Development:
- Designs and facilitates DEI training and workshops for faculty, staff, and administrators to promote cultural competency and anti-bias education.
- Stays current on best practices and research in DEI and share relevant resources and strategies with staff. Student Support & Advocacy:
- Supports students from diverse backgrounds by creating safe spaces for dialogue and belonging.
- Develops student-led initiatives that celebrate diversity and promote inclusion.
- Collaborates with counselors and support staff to address issues of bias, discrimination, or inequity affecting students. Data & Assessment:
- Assesses and analyzes school-wide data related to DEI (e.g., discipline, academic outcomes, climate surveys) to inform strategy and measure progress.
- Regularly reports findings and recommendations to the school leadership team and stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or related field.
Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in DEI leadership, preferably in an educational setting.
Strong understanding of culturally responsive teaching, anti-bias education, and child development.
Proven experience designing and implementing DEI initiatives that impact diverse school communities.

Master’s degree in Education, DEI, Organizational Leadership, or related field.
Experience working in K-12 schools, especially elementary-level education.
Background in facilitating workshops and training for educators, students, and families.
