Job Title: Phlebotomist
Location: Grand Fork, ND 58201
Start Date: 02/17/2025(Tentative)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: The hours are 7 scheduled shifts on and 7 scheduled shifts off. Wed-Wed hours(5 am-5:30 pm) with the option to pick up 4-7 am shifts for overtime.
Weekly Gross: $1260.00 as per 36 hours.
(Please note that there are no guaranteed hours, but you will be paid $35/hr. for the hours you work.)
Job Description:
- Performs patient identification and specimen labeling according to standard operating procedures.
- Understands the phlebotomy processes and techniques to obtain quality blood specimens to ensure that correct decisions are made regarding specimen collection.
- Performs, interprets, and reports point-of-care testing (e.g. glucose) and quality control.
- Processes laboratory and patient reports according to a standard operating procedure, e.g. printing, recording, distributing, faxing, filing, and retrieving.
- Recognizes problems, takes appropriate action, documents problems and corrective action, and follows protocol to notify
- the Supervisor of problems promptly so as not to jeopardize patient care.
- Actively communicates throughout the shift and manages priority requests in a courteous and timely manner to ensure effective
- department workflow. Follows up with STAT, ASAP, and Pre-op draws to ensure turnaround times are met.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
- Experienced with Epic EMR charting system.
Certification/Education:
- Emergency Department: Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
- CPT Certification required.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Phlebotomy.
