The Director of Student Career Development oversees all career support initiatives and services for Metropolitan College (MET) students. This individual creates, supervises, and executes programs to assist MET students in the area of career development and utilizes innovative methods to engage the student population for the purpose of career development. This individual plays a critical role in delivering industry leading services to maintain a high level of student satisfaction with the college’s support of their career development.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Meet directly with MET students in one-on-one and small group settings to advise, coach, counsel, and discuss career development issues.
- Work to assure a comprehensive student experience in career development for all MET students and coordinate the College’s efforts to prepare students for job searches and interviews, create and present programming (both live and online), to assist with resume writing, professional presentation, job search skills, and general information about career choices and consideration.
- Plan and implement events and workshops that build relationships with employers (including MET preferred corporate partners and alumni) and the MET Office of Student Career Development, as well as with MET students and faculty.
- Liaise to the central University Center for Career Development and maintain statistics about all MET career services related activities and student outcome data.
- Other duties as assigned.
