Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Accounts & Analytics, the Staff Accountant is a key member of the Student Accounting Services team and maintains a lead role in the activity analysis and reconciliation in Boston University's cash, liability, student receivable, and clearing accounts, totaling more than $2B.
Major duties of this position include :
- Responsible for general ledger clearing accounts and student receivable reconciliations and audit requests using Excel, third party reporting tools, and the SAP Business Warehouse.
- Identifies business process improvements and / or system enhancements that can reduce uncleared / unmatched items and improve data quality and reporting.
- Creates metrics to be used to analyze processes and procedures to improve efficiency.
- Documents, communicates, and trains staff involved in the reconciliation process.
